M-Sport Ford WRT team in the World Rally Championship

M-Sport World Rally Team is a privately owned British team that has competed in the World Rally Championship since 2006 and is based in Cumbria.
It is managed by M-Sport, a company owned by former driver Malcolm Wilson, who was the former team principal of the factory Ford team, and has changed its name on a number of occasions, usually due to its main sponsor, so it has also changed. It has also been known as Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Rally Team (2006, 2008, 2009), Stobart M-Sport Ford Rally Team (2007, 2010), M-Sport Ford World Rally Team (2012) or Qatar M-sport WRT (2013).
Despite being a private team, its structure and operation is similar to that of an official team and it has served as Ford's second team and some drivers even made the jump to the team after competing in it, such as Jari-Matti Latvala and François Duval.

Initially managed and sponsored by Eddie Stobart Motorsport, the team has fielded a number of drivers, including Mads Østberg, Evgeniy Novikov, Henning Solberg, Matthew Wilson (son of Malcolm Wilson) and Jari-Matti Latvala. Motorcyclist Valentino Rossi also made a brief appearance with the team at the 2008 Rally Great Britain.

The first victory was secured by Sébastien Ogier at the 2017 Monte Carlo Rally, a year in which the team would go on to claim four more victories, the marque championship and the drivers' title for Ogier. Until Ogier's arrival, the team had only scored several podium finishes, the first of which came at Rally Norway in 2007.

Since its first year in the World Championship, it has participated in the constructors' championship and has finished third on three occasions: 2009, 2011 and 2012, always ahead of the other private teams and on some occasions ahead of the official teams, such as in 2008 when it finished with more points than Suzuki or in 2017 when it finished first in the constructors' championship.
