Josh McErlean biography in rallies
McErlean began competing in rally events in 2014 in the British Junior 1000 Rally Challenge, winning this event in 2015 and 2016, with a Peugeot 107. Later, from 2017, he began competing in the British Rally Championship, where he managed to win the junior category in 2019, while finishing third in the overall championship.
In 2021, with Hyundai, he competed in the WRC 3 category of the World Rally Championship and in 2022 and 2023 the WRC 2 category, also occasionally competing in events of the European Rally Championship. In the 2024 season he joined the Toksport WRT 2 to compete in the WRC 2 with a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.
In December 2024, the M-Sport Ford WRT team announced that Josh McErlean would be the team's official driver for the top category for the 2025 season, driving one of the team's Ford Puma Rally1s.
