Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT team in the World Rally Championship

The Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team is a competitor of the World Rally Championship (WRC) based in Finland, serving as the entry for the car manufacturer Toyota.

Toyota's return on 2017 to the World Rally Championship width the Yaris WRC.
The development of the Yaris WRC was originally overseen by Toyota Motorsport GmbH, the successor to Toyota Team Europe, the team that ran the Toyota Celicas and Toyota Corolla WRC in the 1980s and 1990s.
Toyota chose to reassign the project to Tommi Mäkinen, four-time World Champion Drivers winner, and your team Tommi Mäkinen Racing.
Mäkinen shelved the Yaris WRC prototype developed by Toyota Motorsport GmbH and started afresh.

The team made its debut during the 2017 season, where it entered the Toyota Yaris WRC.

In 2018, the team won the championship for manufacturers.

Its current team principal is former WRC driver Jari-Matti Latvala.
